Position Overview:

We’re seeking an experienced leader with a strong background in embedded systems to join our Automotive Business Unit as Director Software Engineering; ideally based in either Villingen-Schwenningen or Munich. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Leadership, motivation and strategic development of the international software engineering management team within the Automotive Business Unit

• Ensure that all worldwide projects within the Automotive Business Unit are developed in time, in budget and according to given quality standards

• Close cooperation with management team to ensure that development resource planning and assignment meets the project requirements and time lines

• Participation in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people

• Contribution to division or company business strategy, M&A activities and corporate strategy

• Participation in accounting and quotation process in close cooperation with the business lines and sales organization

• Driving forward-looking process innovation and product planning in line with a multi-year time horizon

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor/Master degree in computer/software engineering, electronics or related discipline

• 10+ years of experience in a comparable position in embedded systems, ideally automotive software

• Very good technical background in Embedded System Software Development

• Experience in embedded architecture and system definition of complex multiprocessor systems

• Strong knowledge of newest project management methodologies

• Strong communication, presentation and social skills

• Strong team player with good spoken and written communication skills in English and German

• Willingness and ability to travel
